What started unknowingly over a decade ago under a different moniker has grown into something deeper than just a band —Brotherhood built on friendship and a shared love for music. No gimmicks. No trends. Just authenticity. “Good music. Good people.” Led by Donte’ Forsythe, Euphonious blends genres effortlessly, moving from jazz-funk fusion to soul, hip-hop, and R&B with a natural chemistry that only time can build. Their sound is rooted in musicianship elevated by feel — tight grooves, rich harmony, and improvisation that keeps every performance fresh. Beyond the core trio, Euphonious frequently collaborates with talented singers and musicians from across the state, making each show a unique musical experience.

Bassist Dez McDonald is known for his dynamic and expressive approach to the instrument, blending groove, melody and harmony into a powerful live sound. Moving effortlessly through Jazz, Funk, R&B, Blues and Rock, Dez brings a versatile style rooted in deep pocketed groove. Equally comfortable holding down the foundation or stepping forward as a lead voice, Dez often performs lead and bass simultaneously, using chords, melodic phrasing, and creative arrangements to expand the role of the bass. Throughout his career, Dez has shared the stage with world renowned musicians including Grammy award-winning guitarist Eric Gales, Victor Wooten and Billy Sheehan. Blending jazz-funk, soul, blues and modern fusion, Dez & The Third Wave Trio create a groove-driven experience built on tight chemistry, improvisation and expressive musicianship.
